Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance (four-week study students are excluded) and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.

1. Tuition fee: the university is to take charge of teaching and management of scholarship students, organizing cultural and social activities, as well as organizing Chinese language proficiency tests. The tuition fee does not cover textbooks and tourist tickets.

2. Accommodation fee: the university is to provide scholarship students with in-campus accommodation (double rooms). Scholarship students may also live off-campus upon application and getting permission from the university. Students who live off-campus are entitled to accommodation allowance of 700 CNY per person per month paid on a monthly/quarterly basis from the university.

3. Living allowance is to be granted by the university on a monthly basis at the following rates:

 a) undergraduates, one-semester students and one-academic-year students - 2,500CNY/month

 b) Students of MTCSOL- 3,000CNY/month

4. Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the university, in accordance with relevant regulations stipulated by the China Ministry of Education, at the following rates:

 a) For students of four-week programs -  160 CNY

 b) For students of one-semester programs -   400 CNY

 c) For students engaged in programs of one or more years -   800 CNY/year.
